THE POSITION

The Head of Human Resources will be a partner primarily with the CEO and COO/CFO in managing the Human Resources function and proactively improving the employee support and recruitment strategies for the company. This position will develop strategies to leverage technology and outsourcing to gain efficiency and effectiveness for HR as a service to the organization, and will guide the development of best practice HR strategies that will attract, develop and retain the breadth and depth of talent needed to enable the company to execute the strategic plan. The position will have accountability for the strategy behind HR management with a strong focus on talent acquisition, retention, talent management strategies. The Head of HR will also hold the responsibility for employee training and leadership development, performance management, diversity, and employee relations. Finally, holder of this position will work closely with the COO/CFO to update the tactics and strategy of compensation and benefits as it relates to talent acquisition/retention. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with senior management and key departments to update the culture and best practices needed to drive business goals. This position reports to the CEO and is a member of the executive team for the company.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years general HR experience including building, developing and directing all
    functional areas of Human Resources with a strong track record of attracting/recruiting
    and retaining talent
  •  Experience in building and scaling HR function during a period of high growth in a multi-
    office, national services company
  • Successful development and integration of policies and procedures within an organization
    in order to establish an efficient, customer-service driven Human Resource function
  • Proven ability to develop and drive integration strategies for multiple acquisitions
  • Prior responsibility for performance management, training, organizational development,
    employee relations, HR technology, workplace law/risk management and business
    leadership
  • Track record in leveraging technology and outsourcing to increase effectiveness and
    efficiency in strategies
  • Successful track record in driving and monitoring internal satisfaction and employee
    development initiatives
  • Strong business acumen and strategic planning skills; proven ability to correlate human
    capital to business needs
  • Ability to bring immediate credibility to the human resources function through professional
    qualifications and leadership skills
  • Ability to build consensus at the executive level around HR strategy and tactics
  • Change management skills and experience necessary to blend and unify different
    geographical and cultural organizations in order to establish continuity and cohesiveness
    in the organization
  • Proven “hands on” experience with a comfort operating and excelling in a high-growth
    culture

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Responsibility to develop the overall HR strategic plan and to structure the department
    according the company’s current and future needs
  • Direct responsibility for the creation and implementation of general HR strategies and
    support, with particular focus on hiring/recruitment, compensation/benefits, training,
    retention, employee relations, performance evaluations and metrics, compliance and
    succession planning
  • Establishment, measurement and evaluation of the impact of HR solutions (technology,
    process and administration) through ROI metrics and data analysis and the linkage of
    organization effectiveness to business results
  • Participation in the creation and implementation of the strategic plans for the corporation
    and its operational divisions with particular emphasis on the development of an overall
    human capital roadmap to ensure the company’s people strategy is continuously in line
    with total business strategy
  • Development, driving and monitoring of internal customer satisfaction, team building and
    employee development initiatives
  • Lead process of onboarding employees who join the company through acquisition
  • Provide leadership, coaching and evaluation of the performance of the Human
    Resources Department, driving all HR activities and assigning accountabilities for all
    disciplines within HR including recruiting and retention, compensation/benefits, training
    and development, performance management, organizational development, Employee
    Relations, and overall HR management effectiveness
  • Oversees compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Formulates overall Human Resource goals and objectives; develops and plans the HR
    operating and capital budgets; and monitors department performance to budget
  • Coaches/counsels Executive staff, Senior Management, business unit leadership, and
    functional leadership with regard to Human Resources including: Corporate
    policies/procedures and workforce and organizational development issues
  • Leads development of staff and leadership development/training programs designed to
    orient personnel, improve work skills, identify and develop staff and leadership
    capabilities, and improve the company’s operations
  • Recognizes and understands the importance of a cohesive corporate culture within the organization
